Featured: Classic Chrysler Museum of Art Wedding on Style Me Pretty!

I must confess that like many others, I am addicted to Style Me Pretty.  So imagine my delight when they decided to feature one of our weddings!  Kaitlin and Matthew are a beautiful and kind couple and were a dream to work with.

LOVE!

Like Kaitlin, one of my favorite moments was when her dad introduced them into the reception - definitely a personal touch and trend that I am seeing.

Inspired by: Espalier

I love a formal garden.  Espalier, or the horticultural practice of controlling woody plant growth by pruning and tying branches so that they grow into a flat plane really captures my imagination...

... and inspires my designs.  An interpretation for a recent bridal show.

This took about 1800 blooms of carnations and accented with peonies.   I love this as a ceremony or reception backdrop.

Inspired by: Sea Anemones

When I met with our Virginia Aquarium bride last year, I was very excited!  I had never worked there before, but loved to visit.  She happened to like the arrangements of green trick that I had in the studio.  She also mentioned that her colors were charcoal, navy, and orange.  I instantly thought of pincushion protea.  They remind me of sea anemones.  Take a look!

This immediately made me think of some arrangements that I had done - not for a customer, but just because I felt like it.  I showed the bride some photos and we had a look for her wedding.  Here is what we came up with.

 I was able to work the green trick into her bouquet which also contained the protea, mango callas, green hydrangea, spider mums, panee orchids, thistle, and green cymbidiums wrapped in fatsia leaves with accents of lily grass and horsetail.

 

It was a super fun and colorful wedding - and just what she wanted!

Featured: Winter Wedding
